Weaverville Walmart Evacuation

The words “A bomb is near” scribbled on a bathroom wall forced the evacuation of the Walmart store in Weaverville yesterday morning.  The incident was reported to police around 5am and a K-9 unit sniffing for bombs was on the scene 20 minutes later. There were only 10 employees and a few customers in the store at the time of the evacuation.  The store was reopened around 8:30am. The Weaverville Police Department is investigating the threat, and will file charges if they find the person responsible. There are no suspects at this point and the investigation is continuing.
