Western Region SkillsUSA Competition

The Western Region SkillsUSA Club held its annual competitive skills and leadership events at Blue Ridge Community College on Friday, March 7, 2018. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure that America has a skilled work force.  SkillsUSA is a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that is recognized as an integral part of the classroom.  From industry-designed competitions to professional and leadership development workshops, SkillsUSA gives students an opportunity to enhance both their technical and employability skills.  The opening and closing ceremony was led with regional officer representation from Mountain Heritage.  Baylee Ramsey served as the Western region reporter, Mary Hannah Marsh, parliamentarian, Montana Bailey, Treasurer, and Macie Ball served as regional Vice President.

Mountain Heritage students were exemplified through the leadership of advisors Kim Higgins, Jeremy Dotts, and Melba Hughes.  Students competed against students represented across the 16 county region.  Opportunity was presented for students to bring home bronze, gold and silver medals. Mountain Heritage had the following winners:
