Ten Mitchell County Schools middle school students have been accepted to Camp Challenge for 2018 and will attend on scholarships provided by the North Carolina Bankers Association Foundation. The North Carolina Bankers Association Foundation’s Camp Challenge is a week-long summer camp experience for students from across North Carolina. Hundreds of students have attended Camp Challenge every year since 1993 learning about fiscal literacy in a summer camp setting. Rural Education Partners of Mitchell County partners with Mitchell County Schools, the North Carolina Bankers Association and local business and industry supporters to send Mitchell County middle school students to Camp Challenge, this year at Y Camp Weaver in Greensboro.
