Weaverville Bank Robber Turns Himself In

77-year-old Ralph Douglas Husby turned himself in after police say he made off with thousands of dollars in an armed bank robbery of a Weaverville HomeTrust Bank branch Thursday afternoon.

Husby is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, after police say that he used a semi-automatic handgun to stick up the Weaverville HomeTrust Bank branch. The arrest warrant said he stole $14,184.

Husby turned himself in to the Weaverville Police Department on Friday and was transported to the Buncombe County Detention Center. He is being held there in lieu of $80,000 secured bond with a first court appearance in court today.
