Grant Recipients for Helping Hands Announced

Helping Hands of Yancey County has announced the intended grant recipients of this year’s annual Fun Flea Sale. The two organizations that are  recipients for this year are Mountain Heritage High School FFA and Southern Reconciliation House.  For the FFA Helping Hands will provide funds for the spring semester cost of a part-time staff person to serve as a secondary advisor to the FFA program and coordinator of the new Learning Garden project. For Reconciliation House, Helping Hands will help to support their food pantry program. Helping Hands is also giving scholarships to Paige Rizzuto and Alston Randolph, two Mountain Heritage High students who will be attending Mayland Community College this fall. Helping Hands is an all volunteer organization that operates  Fun Flea Sales. This year’s clothing sale is Friday and Saturday at the old Taylor Toggs building in Micaville. Another sale will be held mid-September.
