Bus drivers from the surrounding regional met in Boone today to showcase bus driving skills.
Mitch Banner come in first for Avery County and Danny Wright came in second. First place earned Mitch the opportunity to compete at the district level (districts in Western NC) in Asheville later this month. The top 10 district winners will compete at the Sate level in May.
Mitch is the current 2012 North Carolina Bus Driver of the Year! We are proud of all of our drivers!

April is Autism Awareness Month
Fact: 1 percent of the population of Children in the US ages 3 through 17 have some type of Autism disorder.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
To raise awareness all schools will have a blue ribbon bow to remind us to stop child abuse. The blue ribbon was started by a grandmother who lost her grandchild to excessive abuse. She tied a blue ribbon around her car antenna to remind her of her grandchild.
