BRP Spruce Pine Plant to Produce Parts for New Engine
Bombardier Recreational Products Spruce Pine plant has announced plans to manufacture parts for a new line of eco-friendly engines. BRP revealed a new outboard engine design that produces 75 percent fewer emissions with 15 percent better fuel efficiency and 20 percent more torque than their competitor engines. Parts for the next generation of Evinrude E-Tec Outboard Engine will be manufactured in Spruce Pine, securing BRP’s future in Mitchell County where the company has made a large investment in a 5300 square foot expansion to their engineering department which is a necessary move to produce parts for the new advanced engine. BRP currently employees around 170 people at their Spruce Pine plant.
