Details: Billy David ‘Bill’ Wiseman of Carter’s Ridge Road in Spruce Pine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16th at the Mission Campus of Mission Hospitals.
     A native of Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Annie Sullins and Roy Lee Wiseman and nephew of the late Grover Wiseman and Melvin Wiseman both of Spruce Pine.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Lucille Wilson of Florida and Helen Earwood of Asheville; his brother; Jerry Wiseman of Spruce Pine and his brother-in-law; Dan Grindstaff of Mooresville, NC.
     Bill was the overseer and contractor for the Phillips-Gwaltney Child Development Center at Mayland Community College where he was an instructor of carpentry for many years.  A bear hunter, Bill was an avid sportsman as well as a farmer who loved to raise cattle and hunting dogs.
     Bill Wiseman leaves behind his wife of fifty-seven years; Betty McGee Wiseman of Spruce Pine; his son; Ricky Wiseman and wife, Nita of Spruce Pine; his daughter; Kim Suddreth and husband, Trenton of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren, Joby Wiseman of San Antonio, TX; Shannon Pitman, Zack Green and Alex Green all of Spruce Pine; great grandchildren; Tyler Pitman and Parker Wiseman both of Spruce Pine; Colton and Kelsey Wiseman both of San Antonio, TX; his brothers; Donald Wiseman and wife, Nancy of Engelhard, NC and Roger Wiseman and wife, Carol of Spruce Pine; his sister; Betty Grindstaff of Mooresville, NC; his sister-in-law; Julie Wiseman of Crossnore; several nieces and nephews, including a special ‘Thank You’ to Bob Earwood and wife, Lynn of Asheville.
     The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the graveside service honoring the life of Mr. Bill Wiseman at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Earwood officiating.  A time to receive friends and share memories and support the family will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Webb Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens.
     In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to; Gideon’s International.
