A tractor trailer truck overturned in the 5000 block of NC 226 North, Monday evening around 5pm. This area is better known as Coxes Creek Mountain in McDowell County. McDowell County Emergency Management dispatched several emergency service groups to the scene. Passenger car traffic was diverted to NC 226a.
There has not been an official report of the cause of the accident or a report of injuries at this time. Traffic was reopened on the main road about hour after the accident.
