Parent to Parent Family Support Network of the High Country, The Autism Society of North Carolina and Mitchell-Yancey Partnership for Children are cosponsoring a free workshop, Autism 101, on Tuesday, March 4th. (Back-up date in case of inclement weather on the 4th is Tuesday, March 18th). It will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Spruce Pine from 6:15pm to 8:15pm.
The presenter for this workshop is Jean Alvarez, Autism Resource Specialist with the Autism Society of NC. The workshop will cover the characteristics of autism and strategies for successful intervention with people who have autism. Parents/Caregivers, Daycare Providers, School Teachers/Staff, Law Enforcement Officers, Community Agencies, and Community Members from Yancey and Mitchell Counties are invited to attend.
