Details:  Glenda Houston Logan of the Powder Mill Communtiy in Avery County, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28th in Mission Hospital.  A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Horton and Mildred Oakes Houston.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Buddy Orvill Calloway.  Glenda was an animal lover, loved gardening and being outdoors.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who was down to earth and a free spirit.
     Surviving are sons:  Chris Calloway and wife, Jolene and Buddy Houston and wife, Debbie, all of Powder Mill; sister, Wanda Buchanan and husband, Terry, of Spruce Pine and one granddaughter, Taylor Carpenter.  Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
     Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, January 1st in Yellow Mountain Baptist Church.  Rev. Jeff Brewer will officiate.  Burial will be in the Houston Cemetery.  
     In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
