J. C. Woody 89, of the Jacks Creek Community passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his home.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late John C. and Lillie Woody.
He was a US Army Veteran and a retired employee of Glen Raven Mills. J. C. was a member of West Burnsville Church of God.
Surviving are his wife: Zula Mae Wheeler Woody; a son: Billy Woody of the home; 3 sisters: Jewell Thomas and husband, Gilbert of Bakersville, Annie Underwood and husband, Bill of Maiden and Barbara McDaniel and husband, D. C. of Hickory; a brother: Ivan Woody and wife, Earline of Morganton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Pastor Randal Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in the Wheeler Family Cemetery on Jacks Creek.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
