Details: Walter Wilson 94, of the Horton Creek Community, passed away Wednesday, February 6th at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Nelson and Lula Chrisawn Wilson. He was a World War II US Navy veteran. Walter was preceded in death by his wife: Stella; and, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Surviving is a niece: Louise Ramsey, of Burnsville, with whom he resided, and several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held at 2PM Sunday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Revs. Burl Ledford and Scot Garland will officiate. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery on Indian Creek. Sgt. E. L. Randolph Chapter 57, DAV will confer military rites.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
