Details:  Lois Irene Rowe, age 88, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012.   A native of Chicago, IL, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Miriam Spangler Gooley.  She was also preceded in death by sons: Emmett and Kevin Rowe; sister, Virginia Seger and brother, Marshall Gooley.  Lois leaves a legacy of love and family values that will continue for her future generations.
     Surviving are her daughter, Judith Lynn Rowe Ewing and husband, Paul, of Burnsville; grandchildren: Laura Watrous of Burnsville, Rusty Ewing of Pompano Beach, FL, Jennifer Weaver of Coconut Creek, FL, Michael Rowe of Miramar, FL , Jessica Shippee of Jacksonville, FL and Lisa Sabin of Atlanta, GA.  Ten great-grandchildren also survive.
     A memorial service will be held at later date and will be announced by Yancey Funeral Services.  
     In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Yancey County Humane Society in her honor which would follow her heart.  They may be mailed to 962 Cane River Church Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
