Lost a Pet?



If you have lost a pet, call the Yancey Humane Society at 682-9510 during hours open to the public.  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from Noon to 5 p.m.  Saturday Noon to 4 p.m.  Closed Wednesdays and Sundays.  We urge you to give your pet a "voice" by means of a collar with an identification tag.  Please note that pet tags are available at the animal shelter and can be made while you wait.  Here are additional contacts for you if you have lost a pet.  Sheriff Dept. at 682-2124 - Burnsville Police Dept. at 682-4683 - WKYK Radio Station at 682-3510.  Contact local veterinarians.  Contact the Mitchell County Animal Shelter and the Madison County Animal Shelter.  You may also contact the Times Journal and the Yancey County News for their rates to list your lost pet.  Place notices around the town and the county and drop one off at the Animal Shelter.
