This holiday season Mountain Heritage High School's National Honor Society (NHS) students partnered with the local Salvation Army to organize a food drive. Students and faculty donated cake mix and icing to be part of Thanksgiving Meal Baskets, in the hopes that every family in Yancey County would be able to put dessert on their holiday table. The NHS members would like to offer a special thanks to Salvation Army representatives Stacy Riddle and Ken Clewis for making this project possible. They would also like to announce that their next service project will be a Stop Hunger Now campaign in the spring. If you are interested in helping with this project or have any other suggestions for service within the community, please contact Suzanne Gavenus at 682-6103 (ext. 116) or firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy holidays from the Mountain Heritage National Honors Society!
