MHHS Students Help with Vietnam Memorial Wall Display

The drafting, carpentry, masonry, JROTC and SkillsUSA Club students helped assemble the Vietnam Memorial traveling wall.  Prior to the assembly process, students studied the design process  and contest that was held to chose the appropriate design.  These MHHS students worked side by side with Vietnam veterans during this assembly process.

The members of the Varsity football team, JV football team,  SkillsUSA Club members and future cougars from the YCYLA 5th /6th grade football team worked together to remove the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall.  Tim Tenz, Facilitator and Educational Outreach Director for the Vietnam Traveling Wall said, in the 20 years he had been involved with the assembly and removal of the wall he had never had a more respectful group to take it down in the shortest amount of time that the young men of Mountain Heritage High School and future cougars had.  This group of young men took the wall and all displays down in under an hour and a half.  He attributed the football teams undefeated season success to their respect and discipline both on and off the field.
