Lt. Chris Taylor of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Florentino Fabian, 41, of 16427 U.S. 221 North in Marion, with assault by strangulation and first-degree forcible rape. A woman with whom Fabian is acquainted went to court officials earlier this week, seeking a domestic violence order against the suspect. It was revealed during that time that Fabian had assaulted the woman, choked her and forced her to have sex with him.
