Mary Garland McKinney, age 77, of Beans Creek, went home to be with the Lord on April 28th, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Darlie Gardner Garland. In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by siblings: Linda Rhinecker, Shelby Jean Street, George Garland, and Alvin Garland, as well as two infant siblings. Mary was a member of Beans Creek Church of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed working puzzles and reading the Bible. She was a friend to all and the love she had for her family and church will always be remembered.
Left to cherish her memories, is her loving husband of 50 years, Ron McKinney; daughters: Vickie Yelton, of Beans Creek, and Julie Costello, and husband, Mike, of Pueblo, Colorado; sons: Tim McKinney, and wife, Jill, of Inman, SC, and Jeff McKinney, and wife, Joy, of Beans Creek; brothers: G.B. Garland, and wife, Regina, and Jimmy Garland, and wife, Sharon, both of Beans Creek and her beloved seven grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at Beans Creek Church of Jesus Christ. Preacher David Byrd and Brother Larry Garland will officiate. Pallbearers will be Deacons from Beans Creek Church of Jesus Christ. Burial will follow in the Beans Creek Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
