Details:  Mary Keen Shook of Summer Haven Street in Newland died on Friday, January 18th at the Johnson City Medical Center.
     Born on October 11, 1941 in Tazewell County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Gallie Lee and Ruthie Boyd Keen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Shook who passed away in 2000. She was also she was preceded in death by her sister; Sylvia Keen and her brother; Charlie Keen.
     Mrs. Mary Shook is survived by her son; Charles ‘Chuck’ Shook and fiancé’, Tonya Beaver of Newland; her daughters; Debra Calloway and husband, Jack of Newland and Vicky Reece and husband, James of Bakersville; her sisters; Yvonne Boyd of White Wood, VA; Carmie Hobbs of White Wood, VA; and Gay Horne of Newland; her brothers; Ralph Keen of Elk Park and Roger Keen of Hacienda Heights, CA; nine grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.
     The funeral services for Mrs. Mary Shook will be conducted on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in the Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home.
