Details: She is the wife of Walter Whitson of 71 years. She was the daughter of the late McKinley and Laura Jones Edwards. She was a Homemaker and a Member of Peterson Chapel Church.
     She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Whitson, a granddaughter, Reasia Holman, a great grandson, Matthew Gwyn, five brothers, and son-in-law, Roger Bryant.
     Surviving in addition to her husband, three sons, Rev. Roy Whitson and wife Nancy of Green Mountain, NC, Ray Whitson and wife Brenda of Unicoi, TN, Rev. Donald Whitson and wife Ramona of Dandridge, TN, daughter, Brenda Bryant of Burnsville, NC, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren, and daughter in law, Cindy Whitson of Green Mountain, NC.
     Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Rev. Denny Wilson and Rev. Roy Whitson will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Whitson Family Cemetery on Big Brush Creek Road.
