Mitchell School Board Ask for Changes

The Mitchell County Board OF Education has joined over 40 other school systems in the state who have voted to request the NC Legislature rescind its requirement that school systems pick out the top 25 percent of their teachers and compensate them by giving them raises to give up tenure. The resolution asks the legislature to leave a prorated portion of the funding for the program with the school systems to be used for other programs and also repeal the new law and craft another solution for teacher raises.
