Patricia Ann Hylemon Smith

Patricia Ann Hylemon Smith, 71, passed away, after an extended illness, on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the St. Lucie County Hospice House in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Patricia was the daughter of the late Ray and Wilma Hylemon of Burnsville, where she was born on August 4, 1946.  Patricia resided most of her life in Western North Carolina. She lived in Pembroke Pines, Florida during the 1990’s and recently retired to Ft. Pierce, Florida. Patricia had careers in both banking and security, retiring from security at the Biltmore Inn.

Patricia is survived by her daughter: Suzanne Kinghorn (Gortney), her husband Scott and grandson, Michael Caysun Kinghorn of Plantation, Florida;  her son:  Allen Hughes his wife, Renee, and grandsons, Nathaniel and Oliver Hughes, of Burnsville;  her brother:  Daniel Hylemon and wife, Julia of Dover, TN; her niece: Elisha Mitchell and husband Ashley and their children: Neeley and Creed of Tennessee Ridge, TN:  her nephew:  Matthew Hylemon wife Bonnie and their children, Will and Eli, of Erin, TN;  as well as  her many Jarrett cousins.  Patricia also leaves behind her beloved Chihuahua:  Feffie.

Patricia will be remembered for her warrior spirit and sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by many friends and  those “sister” friends, who were devoted to the end, will grieve her loss deeply.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at West Burnsville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
