RJ McClellan, age 80, of Phillips Road in Spruce Pine, died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Brian Center Health & Rehab of Weaverville.
Born on September 29, 1937 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ella Jones McClellan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; Danny Avery McClellan; his brothers; Vance, George, and Clay McClellan and his sisters; Grace Ollis and Faye Whitstine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-eight years; Linda Watson McClellan of Spruce Pine; his son; Chris McClellan of Spruce Pine; his daughter; Michelle Ducheneau of Boone; his grandson; Dylan McClellan of Roan Mountain, TN; his great granddaughters; Nyla and Frankie McClellan; his brothers; Dayton and Bobby McClellan both of Spruce Pine and his sisters; Bertha Washburn and Beulah Beam both of Spruce Pine.
Private services will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Interment will be in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
