Details: A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Nave and Frances Barnett Street. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Street; two brothers: N.F. Street and Ronald Street; a sister, Christine Moody. He was a Millwright Construction worker who loved the outdoors, fishing, and auto racing.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Garland Street; sons: Randy Street and wife, Rhonda, of Bakersville, Keith Street and wife, Dawn, of Unicoi, TN, Ronnie Street and wife, Debra, of Buladean; two granddaughters: Misty Hollifield and husband, Brandon, Kaylia Street; two grandsons: Devin Street, and Alex Street; great-granddaughter, Shea Laws; step-granddaughters: Jennifer Souther, Lisa Burleson, Amber Biddix and Autumn Thompson; step-great grandson, Mason Hollifield; step-great granddaughter, Shayleigh Souther; a nephew, Alvin Street; great-niece, Dana Ledford and great-nephew, Derek Street.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Ken Hollifield and Rev. Neil Payne will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Edwards Family Cemetery at Fork Mountain.
