All Stars of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church: A Christ Centered Program


There is a brand new All Stars Youth Program at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.   This is  a safe place where kids learn about Jesus - like vacation Bible school every Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:00pm.  Classes - ages 3 - 18.  It began August 21st. 2013 - ends with school calendar in spring.  Vans will run.  Please call the church at 678-9389 if you need a ride.

Annual Ramp Dinner


West Burnsville Baptist Church's Annual Ramp Dinner will be held Friday April 25th from 11:30am-7:00pm at the church.  This is a youth fundraiser. Full Gospel Food Pantry for Those In Need


The Full Gospel Food Pantry at South Toe Old Presbyterian Church will be open on Saturdays from 9:00am-12:00pm for those in need of food.  South Toe Old Presbyterian Church is located just past South Toe School Road. For more information call 284-0375.

The Full Gospel Food Pantry is asking for monetary dontations to help them buy the food from Manna Food Bank to help them feed hungry people in Yancey County.  Churches and individuals wishing to help with funding may send donations to Donna Randolph, Treasurer, P.O. Benefit Singing for Jamie Silvers' Family


There will be a Benefit Singing for the Jamie Silvers family, who lost their home to fire back in the winter, at Laurel Valley Church Saturday April 26th at 6pm.  Singers will be Laurel Bend Church, Living Waters, Anna Loe Phillips, Luke Chandler, Voices of Laurel Valley, and others.  All singers and listeners are welcome. Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 20 Summit Street in Burnsville, will be holding a rummage sale Saturday May 3rd from 8am until 1pm.  Lots of estate items and miscellaneous goodies. 

Benefit Spaghetti Supper & Gospel Sing


The Barnardsville Fire Department will be sponsoring a Benefit Spaghetti Supper and Gospel Sing on Saturday May 3rd, beginning at 5pm. This will be held at the Barnardsville Fire Department located at 100 Dillingham Road, the proceeds will go to help Barnardsville Firefighter Rex Harwood, with medical expenses and the cost for the meal will be by donation only. Scheduled to sing is the Fox Family Quartet and others. Everyone is invited to attend.

South Toe Community Benefit Singing


There will be a South Toe Community Benefit Singing hosted by South Estatoe Baptist Church,  Saturday May 3rd from 6pm to 8pm. Churches, groups and individuals county wide will gather to help and support a local family in need. Amanda Autrey, a South Toe Fireman, wife and mother, is fighting cancer and is in treatment at the time. So come and join a time of fellowship and song.

Girl's Night Out with Mandy Young


Women are invited to a "Girl's Night with Mandy Young" Friday May 9th at 7:00pm at Higgins Memorial United Methodist Church. Mandy will shares her testimony of 'Loving the life God gives you'. Her miraculous story has been shared on CNN, NBC, Montel Williams and countless others. Hers is a story of holding on to hope in the midst of the most difficult storms of life. She battled an unknown illness all of her childhood which left her parents being told to say goodbye countless times. But God had different plans. You will be encouraged as she shares her story of hope with a contagious smile despite her circumstances. You will also be blessed by worship led by mother daughter duo Debbie Phillips and Emily Sigmon. 4th Annual God and Country Wagon Train


The 4th Annual God and Country Wagon Train will be coming to the Madison County Fairgrounds in Marshall, NC Friday May 16th through Sunday May 18th.  The cost is $10 per wagon, all others free.  The God and Country Wagon Train is an opportunity for churches and the community to come together in a unique venue modeled after the days of our nation's earliest development and a chance to revisit our Christian Heritage.
