Seeds of Hope Community Garden

Charity House Mission Homeless Shelter

Charity House Mission Homeless Shelter will soon open in Burnsville.  The organization is dedicated to getting homeless people off the streets, out of campers without heat, under bridges and similar places into a warm, safe, Christian environment.  Charity House Mission is a 501(c)(3) with a board of directors and they are currently working on a project to find a suitable building and making necessary renovations which will be necessary for this venture.  In order to make a difference they must rely on individuals, businesses, and churches in our communities. Consider a donation of any size.  However, they are asking all churches to commit to $1,000 or more per year to this project. They are also seeking gently used furniture, household items, children's clothing and toys for their resale shop to be opened soon.  If you would like to volunteer in any capacity or would like to find out more call Jewel Huskins at 828-678-0726 or by email at jewellhuskins3@aol.com.

Prisoner Seeks Christian Correspondence

Kayla Buchanan is from Avery County and is the mother of 3 children.  She is 31 years old, and has been serving time in Federal prisons for a few  years with a few years left to serve.  She is currently incarcerated in Aliceville, Alabama and has lost touch with almost everyone who meant so much to her in her life. She is a Christian, is intelligent, hard-working, loving and kind.  She is finishing her electrical course this month and she has earned her GED.  She would like Christian fellowship through the mail and it would be a blessing to her to hear from you.  And she is a blessing to all as I can attest to from my getting to know her through my Prison Ministry Jesus for Prisoners.
