TRAC's First Art Market

On Saturday, May 3, the Toe River Arts Council is hosting its first indoor Cluster Arts Market at the Spruce Pine Gallery (269 Oak Avenue). Meander around the tables set up in the gallery, visit with and purchase directly from the artists in a fun, informal atmosphere for the artists and the community. Clay, glass, fiber, jewelry, wood, metal. A little bit of a lot of art in a lot of mediums.

The growing artist roster includes:
Ceramics—Garold Amsberry, Robbie Bell, Valerie Schnaufer, Gay Smith
Fiber—Dotty Morgan, Judy Meek
Glass—Valerie and Rick Beck, Loretta Forde, David Wilson, William and Katie Bernstein, JJ Brown and Simona Rosasco
Jewelry—Edd Knight, Johnny Lara, Nancy Leggett, Linda Marco
Metal—Ira DeKovan
Native American—Mary Wise Heart
Photography—Carol Arthurs
Wood—Armin Wessel
Hours are 9am to 6pm on Saturday, May 3. Come share the magic of art in the mountains in this festive first art show of the season. And on the day before, Friday, May 2, doors will stay open at the gallery from 5 to 7pm to offer a sneak peek opportunity to view and purchase work during a wine and cheese reception. If you’re looking for something for mom, that June bride or just want to see creativity at work, you’ll find it at CAM. Come out and support your community by supporting the artists who call it home.
The Toe River Arts Council is a non-profit organization founded in 1976 to promote the arts in both Mitchell and Yancey Counties. TRAC is supported by the NC Arts Council, a state agency, other granting sources, donations, memberships, and from people who believe the arts help a community thrive.
