Thomas Risner

In the quietness of early morning on January 19, 2018, at the Life Care Center in Hendersonville, NC, our beloved husband and father, Thomas Risner, went peacefully to his Heavenly Home.

Left leaving and grieving are his wife of 60-plus years:  Dorlores “Dee” Risner (NC), and sons:  Kevin Thomas Risner (FL), John Winfred Risner, (NY), and James Richard Risner (New Zealand) and 3 grandchildren: Daniel Winfred Risner (Chicago), Nicholas John Risner (China), and Zoe Caitlyn Risner (New Zealand).  Also, many relatives and friends.

Tom’s was born and raised in Hartwell, Ga. but after serving in the US Army in Europe, went to Washington, DC, then settled down and met, married, and raised his family in Maryland.  He retired from the Federal Government at Andrews Air Force Base.  He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and after retirement, moved to Greenville, SC and later to Arden Woods, near Asheville NC.

When he fell ill, he entered his last home on earth at the Life Care Center of Hendersonville, where he was cared for by wonderful hospital and Hospice caregivers, who couldn’t have done any better.  The family gives special thanks for all their help, love, and concern.

A Celebration of the life of Tom Risner will be held at a later time in Pensacola NC, where Tom will be interred in the Eddie McMahan Cemetery.

“To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.”
