The old Tipton Hill School building and property have been sold to the Bradshaw Fire Department. The Mitchell County Board of Education officially sold the property at its October 21st meeting where board members voted unanimously to proceed with the sale. The property was split between two parties with Bradshaw purchasing 17.85 acres of land plus the buildings for $42,000 and Ryan Whitson purchasing about 6 acres for $31,000. The Tipton Hill Community Foundation, which plans on leasing part of the buildings from Bradshaw, also agreed to the terms of the deal. The sale of the property lets the tax payers of Mitchell County off the hook for the operation and maintenance of the school buildings while allowing people in the Tipton Hill Community to benefit as well.
