Wayne Pate, 90, of Burnsville, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Homestead, Florida.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late John W. and Hattie King Pate and the husband of Nettie Higgins Pate, who died in 2005.
He was a US Army Veteran and a member of West Burnsville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughter; Anita Darsey and husband Don of Marathon, FL; a grandson; Jordon Baker and wife Shannon and two great grandsons: Jaxon and Weston Baker, all of Smyrna, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Pastor Terry Long will officiate. Burial will be in West Burnsville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
