In 2017 the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 8656 call for service,900 school security checks, 3,600 Church/Business security checks, spent 5,740 hours on call for services, served 1196 civil papers, made 596 arrests with a total of 1053 charges, booked in 768 inmates into the Detention Center.
