There will be no advanced ticket sales for our western regional championship game on Friday.  Ticket price is set for $8 per ticket.  Also, the gates of the stadium will open at 5:15 pm.

Mitchell Youth Wrestlers of the Week

Mitchell Youth wrestlers competed Saturday in the Viking Clash at Aver HS. Twent-Two Mitchell wrestlers competed in Saturday's event, with 7 wrestlers earning top honors in their division. Mitchell youth wrestlers will be back in action in the Mountaineer Open at Appalachian State on Dec. 5th.

Mitchell Youth Wrestlers Compete

Mitchell Youth wrestlers competed Saturday in the Patriot Open at Madison HS. Sixteen Mitchell wrestlers competed in Saturday's event, with five earning top honors in their division.

Mitchell County Youth Wrestling

The Mitchell County Youth League kicked off the 2015 season with practices last week and several wrestlers participating in the High Country Challenge in Blowing Rock. Practices are being held at Mitchell High Mondays and Thursdayevenings. K-2nd graders practice from 6-7pm and 3-6th graders practice 7-8:30pm. Rick Spurling Recognized

The Mitchell High School Athletic Dept recognized Mitchell County Superintendent and former Head Football and Baseball Coach Rick Spurling.  He was recognized at the Varsity Football game on October 16th. Coach Spurling has spent the last 32 years as an administrator, teacher and coach in the Mitchell County School System. Former players, students, co-workers and friends of Coach Spurling met to honor him. Spurling was Coach of the 1996 Mountaineer Baseball Team that went undefeated in WHC play (10-0). This is the only Western Highlands Conference Championship in school history.
