Katlyn’s Cubby Consignment/Thrift Store has opened, giving those looking to buy and sell clothing and accessories and other items a new option in Burnsville. The store is located at 613 West Bypass in the Fox Family Shopping Center across from the Western Sizzlin Steak House in Burnsville.
Owner Nicky Gouge said the store will carry clothing, as well as jewelry, handbags and shoes as well as lots of other household and personal items. It will carry all women's and men's sizes, as well as juniors, young men and misses.
Gouge said she was inspired to open Katlyn’s Cubby because she had worked in the consignment shop business in the past, and she liked it, she said, and wanted to give it a try herself. "I've always been interested in this type of a business," she said.
Katlyn’s Cubby will accept items that are clean and in good condition, Gouge said. Payout, which is 50-50, will be done each month. Items that are brought in will be placed on consignment at regular price for 90 days and then reduced to half price after that. The condition the items are brought in will help determine their price, Gouge said. "Appearance means a lot," she said, adding that today's fashions are welcomed. "We would like them current." In addition to customers' clothing and accessories that is brought in, Katlyn’s Cubby will carry “a little bit of everything”, Gouge said.
Gouge said her main goal for Katlyn’s Cubby is to help people who are looking to both turn clothing over, and make a profit to be able to buy new clothing. This is something many people are especially interested in, she said, given today's economic state.Additionally, Katlyn’s Cubby gives people the opportunity to buy name brand items at a low price, Gouge said.
Customers need not make an appointment to bring in merchandise. For more information call 284-6018 or stop by the store.
