Pink Basketball Games at Mitchell High January 31
All of us know someone who is, has been, or will be affected by the diagnoses of cancer. To help raise awareness and to fight this major health problem, the students at Mitchell High School are competing against the students at Mountain Heritage High School with donations supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Mitchell and Yancey Counties. The Pink Game Challenge will be played on January 31 when Mountain Heritage travels to Mitchell for Western Highlands Conference basketball games. JV games begin at 4 p.m. with varsity games to follow. In addition to the basketball game, other fundraising events are planned at the schools. Both schools and cheer teams are raising money now, up to, and during the game on Tuesday.  There will a variety of products for purchase at the game, but the main item will be “Pink” themed T-shirts. Please come out and support the event for breast cancer awareness and get in on all of the great fund raising activities that both schools are involved in. For more information or to purchase a T-shirt contact Heritage Cheerleading Coach Cindy King at cdriddle@yanceync.net or call 828-208-6318.
