Details: Born on January 1, 1930 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Herb and Myrtle Pitman Stafford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Betty Buchanan, Thelma Burleson, Hazel Hawkins, and Marcel Stafford.
     Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Mildred Hughes Stafford; his daughter; Cynthia Rivera and husband, Angel of Puerto Rico; his grandsons; Kostas Tsilianos and wife, Terra and Alex Tsilianos and wife, Katie; his great granddaughters; Emily and Alley Williams.
     A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Roaring Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
