Details: Born on July 7, 1961 in Mitchell County, he was the son of John and Mary Cook Hollifield. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Wyatt who passed away in 2010. He was a retired Captain with the McDowell County Sherriff’s Department. After retirement, he spent a year in Afghanistan as a contracted law enforcement officer.
     The funeral service for Mr. Victor Hollifield will be conducted on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev’s Chris Rathbone and Rocky Branch officiating. Interment will follow in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Bear Creek Baptist Church.
     Mr. Victor Hollifield is survived by his wife, Tracey N. Hollifield of Spruce Pine; his son, Misher Hollifield of Spruce Pine; his step daughter; Skylar Hughes of Spruce Pine; his granddaughter; Jacie Wyatt of Spruce Pine; son-in-law; Brian Wyatt of Spruce Pine; his parents; John and Mary Hollifield of Spruce Pine; his brothers; Dana Hollifield and wife, Valerie of Spruce Pine; Van Hollifield and wife, Leticia of Little Switzerland; and Mark Hollifield and wife, Lorie of Spruce Pine; several nieces and nephews.
     In lieu of flowers; the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Gideon’s.
