Details: He was born on August 6, 1961 in Mitchell County. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Marcella Sparks Duncan and two sons; Dustin Allen Duncan and Christopher Dean Carpenter.
     Allen Duncan was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was an avid North Carolina Tar Heels fan, he loved nature, sports and especially enjoyed fishing, and pitching horse shoes.
     The funeral service for Mr. Allen Duncan will be conducted on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 4:00 pm at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan Silver officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the church.
     Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Shelia Duncan of the home. In addition to his wife he is survived by his Father; Phil Duncan of Bakersville; his son; Brad Duncan of the home; a granddaughter; Destiny Carpenter of the home; grandsons; Devin Carpenter of Spruce Pine; Tagan Duncan and Carter Duncan both of Burnsville; and a granddaughter; Kierra Carpenter of Spruce Pine; sisters; Irene Henson of Rock Hill, SC; Ilene Burleson of Bakersville; Bernice Gouge of Bakersville; and Carol Robinson of Bakersville; brothers; Keith Duncan and Kenneth Duncan both of Morganton; Carl Gouge and Henry Gouge both of Hickory; Ray Gouge of Spruce Pine; and Don Gouge of Marion.
