Mountain Heritage Narrows Choices for New Basketball Coach

The search for a new varsity boy’s basketball coach at Mountain Heritage high School is in its final stages, according to Cougar Athletic Director Joey Robinson who said last week that the field of nearly 40 applicants has been narrowed to eight final candidates.  “We will be meeting in committee this week and try and come to an agreement on who will be the most qualified and the best to fit the vacant teaching and coaching position. Robinson said the committee has a candidate in mind and that it is just a matter of working out an agreement with that individual. The school hopes to have a coach in place by the first of June to give them a chance to work with the team over the summer to get them ready for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. Whoever takes over the helm of the Cougar basketball program will inherit a talented team that will look to challenge for the Western Highlands Conference title this coming season.
