If you have pets that need to be fixed then plan to stop by the Prescription Pad Pharmacy on Tuesday, July 10, from noon to 3 p.m.  Representatives of the Yancey Humane Society will be on hand to sign up your pets for surgery.  Free spay/neuters are still available for large dogs weighing 40 pounds and more.  Grant money is available for cats and kittens.  Grant money for small dogs weighing 39 pounds or less has been exhausted; therefore, the cost to have your small dog fixed is $50 per pet.
Please note that all pets 4 months and older must have a rabies vaccination.  The cost of the rabies vaccination is $6 per pet.  If your pet is current for the rabies vaccination, please bring proof of that vaccination with you.
