Hickory Springs Manufacturing has announced that it will add 25 new jobs to its facility off Hwy. 80-South in Micaville. Hickory Springs is closing a plant in Michigan and consolidating their operations at the Micaville Plant. Officials site the expansion of sewer and water service to the Micaville area as an important step in helping businesses and industry in the area to expand. Line construction for the project is moving along with the portion to Hickory Springs nearly complete, according to Yancey County Manager Nathan Bennett.
