Yancey County Organizations Receive Ronald McDonald House Grants

Bald Creek Elementary School in Yancey County and Graham Children Services have received two grants from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas. The $3500 grant to Bald Creek will be used for construction of an outdoor pavilion in the school’s outdoor classroom. The project began two years ago with the refurbishment of the school’s gymnasium and continued with a two-phase playground renovation. A grant of $4,414 was also presented to Graham Children Health Services to be used to build a picnic shelter at Yancey County’s Comprehensive Recreational Grounds. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas provide grants to organizations that work to improve the lives of children in Western North Carolina, Upstate South Carolina and Northeast Georgia.
