A South Carolina man was transported to Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville Thursday morning after being injured in a tractor and trailer accident on Coxes Creek Mountain in McDowell County. According to the NC Highway Patrol, a truck hauling feldspar, went out of control as the driver was trying to negotiate the sharp curves on Hwy. 226. The truck was traveling too fast and overturned on its side onto the bank in the North bound lane. The driver of the truck, Tyrone White, was cited for exceeding safe speed. Troopers were on the scene for around five hours as crews cleared the roadway. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
