Unleashed: Art for Animals, an exhibit and sale to benefit Mitchell County Animal Rescue, opens Friday, October 12 at the Green Plum Gallery, 130 Oak ("upper") Street, Spruce Pine. This is the annual fundraiser featuring art and craft donated by local artists. This year some of it will have animal imagery. Please come to the gala opening celebration from 5 to 9 pm and pick out your favorite piece. The sale will continue Tuesday to Saturdays through October 20, 11 am-7 pm. All sales benefit the Rescue.
