Mayland Amateur Radio Club in Mitchell County will hold a class for individuals to prepare for their Technical Level Amateur Radio Certification Test. Commonly known as HAM, it is an excellent activity for a parent and child to pursue together, or for individuals who would like to build their emergency preparedness skills. The class will be held Mondays, October 15 through early December from 7-9 PM. The cost is $25 for textbook and materials. The license exam fee is $15. Class will be held in Bakersville in the Ag building west across the street from the Historic Court House. The final exam will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, Dec 15. For more information call 765-0362.
