At its regular monthly meeting on October 1st, the Yancey County Board of Education awarded the bid for construction of a new Softball Field House Complex at Mountain Heritage High School to MBI Builders, LLC. This project will include home and visitor dressing rooms, public restrooms as well as a concession stand.  In addition, the roofs of the existing softball dugouts and guard house will be upgraded to green metal to match the new building.  Also included in the contract will be minor repairs and metal roofing to each structure on the baseball field.  The low bidder, MBI Builders, LLC, is currently working with Yancey County Schools, constructing the new Middle School Health Centers Additions at Cane River and East Yancey Middle Schools which should open sometime in November.
