Local Quakers and friends will gather for a tasty African meal and live music Saturday October 20th at 6:30pm at Arthur Morgan School, located at 60 AMS Circle in Burnsville.  This "Nurturing Knowledge" fundraiser will raise funds for education of children in Samburu, Kenya.  Enjoy a traditional African meal and music by Bob Early.  The Celo Friends Meeting (Quakers) has a goal of raising $10,000 to support two Shepherd’s Schools serving around 100 children each, two literacy programs serving 20-25 people, and 16 scholarships for girls. The group has already secured a matching grant for the first $2500. Samburu girls face many obstacles to education, including lack of funds, early marriage and childbirth, and the need to support the family by helping tend to livestock.  Everyone is invited.
