Details: Born in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Weldon and Nell Stewart Pittman. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Williams Pittman. He was also preceded in death by two sisters; Hazel Stewart and Patsy Barrier Phillips and a brother; Byrd Pittman.
     Mr. Pittman was a member of the Sugar Hill Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved all animals and enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels. He loved spending time with all of his family members. He was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins and New York Yankees.
     The funeral service for Norris Pittman will be conducted on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Sugar Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
     Norris Pittman is survived by his daughter; Donna Davis and husband, Wayne of Marion; a granddaughter; Laura Davis of Marion; his brother; Gerald Pittman and wife, Sue of Burnsville; several nieces and nephews.
