The Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidates’ forum yesterday evening at the Historic Courthouse in Bakersville. Those seeking the offices of US House of Representatives District 11, NC State Senate District 47, NC House of Representatives District 85 and the Mitchell County Commissioners and Board of Education candidates were all invited to participate. The questions were formulated by the Mitchell County Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee in partnership with the local Democratic and Republican party representatives as well as submissions from Chamber members. The forum last night was recorded and will re-play on WTOE at 1pm today.
