A 20-month-old girl remains in critical condition as police investigate how she was injured. Christopher Edwards of Marion is charged with abuse after Lily Kerr was sent to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Mission Hospital. Edwards was originally charged with murder because doctors had initially thought the child had died from her injuries. But authorities say when the child started breathing again the murder charge was dropped against Edwards.  Edwards is in the McDowell County Jail charged with intentional felony child abuse. He’s under a $200,000 bond.
