State and local dignitaries, including Gov. Bev Perdue and NC Secretary of Transportation Gene Conti will be on hand today, to help dedicate the completion of phase one of the four lane road project on Hwy 19 from Madison County to Jacks Creek in Yancey County. The dedication ceremony will be held at the top of the mountain at the Madison -Yancey County line at 11:15 a.m. Yancey County EDC Director Wanda Proffitt and other local officials will take part in the ceremony.
